Curley wins Classic, Sheehy wins Cup

Michael Curley won the third ranking event of the year last Wednesday beating Sean Cheasty in his first final appearance.

This was the third victory in a row for Curley and saw him out in front with 30 ranking points.

However Curley was knocked out in the quarters of the UCD Cup in a shock result this week. The title was won by veteran member Ger Sheehy in his second final appearance in UCD. Ger returned to a heros welcome in his home town of Gathabawn, Co Kilkenny on Friday night.

'A' team player Oliver Mobasser gained much needed ranking points by reaching the final after a poor start to the season due to injury.

Semi-finalists were Joe Thompson and Lorcan Kavanagh.

Curley Does Double

Michael Curley won the second ranking event of the year on Wednesday making it two in a row and firmly placing himself as no 1 in UCD. In a close final Lorcan Kavanagh won the first two frames but Curley came back with three on the trot to win the best of five encounter. The standard was very high with two clearances from break in the third and fifth frames.

Semi-finalists were Ger Sheehy and Sean Cheasty.

Ross Metcalfe won the plate for the second week running.

Curley retains Open Title

Michael Curley sailed to victory in the UCD Open last night putting himself on top of the ranking list. 34 entrants contested the tournament with many new faces among them. Semi- Finalists were Lorcan Kavanagh and Ger Sheehy. Kevin Meaney, a past member of the club and former A team player, reached the final beating the 2nd and 3rd seeds along the way. The plate tournament will be completed tonight Thursday in the bar.

O'Rourke wins Freshers Tournament

Congratulations to Daniel O'Rourke who won the Freshers Pool Tournament on Tuesday last.

The Runner up was Alan Twomey who lost 3-1 in the final to Daniel.

Other semi-finalists were Eduards Vanags and Jack Fitzgerald with Michael Casey winning the Plate Tournament.
